This magnificent Quinta (farmhouse) was built by an Englishman in the late 1800´s. The house is built of fine granite, partly into a terrace. The high ceilings on the ground floor at over 4 meters keep the house cool even on the hottest of days. The original features have been retained in a beautifully authentic restoration. The 3 suites located in the top of the house incorporate the original pine beams giving a true “wow” factor. A fine oak staircase accesses the river suites. The large sitting rooms with comfy sofas give genuine feeling that you are at home! The 3 suites on the ground floor, with their original 3-meter pine shutters, are accessed from the reception and have a real Portuguese theme. Should you wish to join us for dinner (cooked by our daughter Caroline - ex pastry chef at the Michelin starred Glasshouse at Kew), this can be booked in the morning. For those interested in wine we have a 1.9-hectare vineyard!
